20 Side Hustles That Pay Daily

The post 20 Side Hustles That Pay Daily appeared first on Millennial Money.

Most full-time gigs pay every couple of weeks or even once a month. If you wish you had something that paid more often (or just need a little influx of cash between paydays), consider starting a side hustle in your spare time.

Side hustles don’t require a specific schedule, and you determine what you want to do and your earning potential.

Check out my roundup of the best side hustles that offer same day pay to help you reach your financial goals.

Top 20 Side Hustles that Pay Daily

  1. Make Deliveries with DoorDash
  2. Complete Tasks with TaskRabbit
  3. Take Online Surveys
  4. Get Paid to Shop with Shipt
  5. Drive for Uber
  6. Try Secret Shopping
  7. Be a Tutor
  8. Lawn Care and Landscaping
  9. Donate Plasma
  10. Restaurant Server
  11. Proving Moving Services
  12. Operate Vending Machines
  13. Make Extra Money with InboxDollars
  14. Create an Online Course
  15. Become a Freelance Writer
  16. Window Cleaning Service
  17. Pet Care
  18. Start a Consulting Business
  19. Flip Items
  20. Snow Removal Service

1. Make Deliveries with DoorDash

Average Pay: $18.31/hour

DoorDash is a popular side hustle that pays daily. With DoorDash, you set your own schedule and choose the deliveries you want to make. You’ll mostly deliver food from restaurants, but in some areas, you may deliver items from convenience stores.

Dashers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. Fortunately, DoorDash isn’t specific about your vehicle as long as it’s reliable. In some areas, you can even ride a bike or scooter to deliver for DoorDash.

DoorDash typically pays weekly, but you can request Fast Pay once per day. It costs $1.99 per transfer. DoorDash also offers DasherDirect, a prepaid Visa, that Dashers can receive immediate (and free) direct deposits after each delivery. There’s no credit check to get approved, but you must be an active Dasher. As a bonus, Dashers using DasherDirect automatically receive 2% cashback on gas at any gas station.

2. Complete Tasks on TaskRabbit

Average Pay: $19 – $30/hour

Taskers, as they call people who do side hustles on TaskRabbit, complete odd jobs for people. You advertise your services on TaskRabbit, and when people hire you, TaskRabbit handles all administrative work, including payments. TaskRabbit keeps a small portion of your earnings, but you leverage their large audience and can charge what you think is fair for the job.

Common tasks on TaskRabbit include home repairs, furniture assembly, moving, home cleaning, and personal assistant tasks.

TaskRabbit typically pays within 24 hours of receiving payment for a job you completed. While they pay daily for side hustles, the money can take up to five days to reach your bank account.

3. Take Online Surveys

Average Pay: $1 – $20 per survey (varies)

Taking online surveys is one of the most entertaining side hustles that pay daily. What other side hustle would pay you to give your opinion?

However, that doesn’t mean this side hustle doesn’t require work. To qualify for online surveys, you must pass screeners, which are questions you answer to determine if you meet the demographic needs of the survey. You may take a handful of screeners before qualifying, but you’ll get paid for providing your opinion when you qualify.

Popular online surveys include Survey Junkie, Swagbucks, and Branded Surveys.

When taking online surveys, read the fine print. Some companies have minimum thresholds you must reach before you cash out, so while you get paid daily for your surveys, receiving the funds may take a while.

4. Get Paid to Shop With Shipt

Average Pay: $20/hour

Shipt shoppers grocery shop for customers. It’s a fun side hustle that pays daily while also providing the opportunity to get out of the house.

Shoppers work through the Shipt app to accept customer orders. When you accept an order, you go to the grocery store the customer shopped at online and shop the order. After checking out (with a prepaid card), you deliver the groceries to the customer’s doorstep.

Shipt pays shoppers a flat fee for each order, plus you keep any tips the customer pays. Shoppers can request payouts daily, but only once per day and for a small fee. Otherwise, you can wait for the weekly direct deposit on Fridays for no charge.

5. Be an Uber Driver

Average Pay: $19.27/hour

Uber offers two opportunities for side hustles that pay daily; you can drive people to their destinations or deliver food from restaurants with Uber Eats. The good news is if you’re an approved Uber driver, you’re automatically approved to drive for Uber Eats. This allows you more opportunities to earn cash daily. You can work the other to pick up the slack when one service is slow.

To be an Uber driver, you need a reliable car, proper car insurance, a background check, and, of course, you must have a valid driver’s license.

Uber offers the opportunity to collect pay instantly through Instant Pay. You can request payment up to six times daily for $0.85 per transfer, sending the funds to a debit card.

6. Try Secret Shopping

Average Pay: $18/hour

Secret shopping is another fun side hustle that pays daily. As a secret shopper, you are an independent contractor for companies that need information about their stores or specified displays. You may be tasked with taking pictures, purchasing a product (with reimbursement), or reporting back on the store’s cleanliness.

To be good at secret shopping, you must be able to notice small details, have good time management skills, and provide well-written responses about what you discovered while on the task.

7. Be a Tutor

Average Pay: $16 – $50/hour

Tutoring is a great side hustle that pays daily, especially if you tutor in person. Typically, you need either a teaching degree or adequate experience in the subject you tutor. The requirements vary whether you work for a company like VIPKid or advertise your services in your local area, meeting students at the library or local coffee shop.

If you tutor in person, you get paid on the spot and have cash daily. But if you tutor for a company online, you must follow their pay structure, which may mean receiving direct deposits weekly unless they offer instant pay options.

8. Lawn Care and Landscaping

Average Pay: $18/hour

Landscaping is a fun side hustle that pays daily. If you love being outdoors and are great at caring for lawns and landscaping, you can make good money helping people in your area.

You can advertise your services via flyers or your social media pages to advertise your services. Make sure you are specific about what you offer, such as cutting lawns, planting flowers, pruning bushes, or yard cleanup.

If you advertise your services yourself, request payment upfront or at least a deposit to get paid immediately, and then again when you complete the task.

9. Donate Plasma

Average Pay: $50 – $75 per appointment

Donating plasma is a great way to earn daily but without much work. You’re also helping people in need. Plasma helps trauma patients and people with certain diseases, so your side hustle also helps people who need you.

To qualify to donate plasma, you must be at least 18 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and pass a thorough medical exam to ensure you’re in good health the first time you donate. Each subsequent time, they’ll run quick medical tests, including taking your temperature and pulse to ensure your vitals are within the acceptable range to donate.

Most plasma donation centers pay you immediately for your donation on a prepaid debit card that you can use anywhere a Visa or Mastercard is accepted.

10. Restaurant Server

Average Pay: $16/hour

Local restaurants and bars are always in need of good help. You don’t have to get an official part-time job at a restaurant to be a server. You can offer your services as a side hustle, filling in when restaurants are short or even working special events.

The nice thing about serving in restaurants is you earn an hourly wage plus customer tips, which you get immediately if they are cash. If your customers pay with a credit or debit card, you typically get your tips at the end of the night when you close your sales.

11. Provide Moving Services

Average Pay: $18/hour

You can get paid for moving or junk removal services if you have a truck and big muscles. While you can look for a job doing this, doing it as a side hustle can be more lucrative. First, you choose when and where you work and decide how much you’ll charge, which is great when looking for side hustles that pay daily.

Advertise your services with flyers and on your social media pages to let the local area know what you do. You can also use sites like Neighbor or TaskRabbit to get more business.

12. Operate Vending Machines

Average Pay: Up to $3,000/month

Owning and operating vending machines is one of my favorite side hustles that pay daily because they don’t require much work. Once you find a business or area to set up your vending machine, your only job is to ensure it remains stocked and to cash out the earnings.

You can cash out as often as you want, including daily, but to minimize your trips, you may want to limit it to weekly when you check on the stock.

13. Make Extra Money with InboxDollars

Average Pay: $0.10 to $5

InboxDollars is a get-paid-to-site that is a great side hustle in your free time. On the site, you get paid to take surveys, play games, read emails, and shop online. I love it because you can diversify your efforts and make more money.

To make money shopping online with InboxDollars, you must shop through their portal, but you get to shop at your favorite stores like Walmart and Target and get paid to do it!

InboxDollars currently pays a $5 bonus for new sign-ups, and you earn money for each task daily. The only downside is you need $30 before you can cash out your earnings.

14. Create an Online Course

Average Pay: $1,000 – $10,000/year

Creating an online course is a great side hustle because you do the work once and then can sell the course as many times as people will buy it.

You don’t have to be certified to teach an online course. All you need is the passion and knowledge to effectively teach a subject and a platform to do it. Teachable and Udemy are two popular user-friendly platforms with a large audience to sell your courses.

You’ll earn money each time someone purchases your course. However, each platform pays at different intervals. For example, Teachable pays its creators once per month.

15. Become a Freelance Writer

Average Pay: $24 – $50/hour

Freelance writers make money daily by offering their writing services to small- to mid-sized businesses. They can write blog posts, email copy, ad copy, or even eBooks.

Freelance writers usually work as ‘ghostwriters,’ which means the company purchasing the content can publish it in their name or any name they wish.

To be a successful freelance writer, you need adequate knowledge of the niche you’ll write for and good grammar skills. You can advertise your services on sites like Fiverr or Upwork and get hired by companies within their large audiences, or you can start your own side hustle and do your own marketing.

16. Window Cleaning Services

Average Pay: $20/hour

Window cleaning services are a great side hustle that pays daily. Because there’s such little overhead for window cleaners, you have high profit margins, putting more money in your pocket.

You can offer services cleaning residential or business windows. Since window cleaning is a project-based business, you’ll get paid immediately when providing your services, allowing you to earn daily pay when you run your side hustle.

17. Pet Care

Average Pay: $2,500 – $4,000/month

Pet sitting, dog walking, and waste removal are all great side hustle pet services you can offer to get paid daily. Pet owners often need outside help caring for their pets while they are away or even daily walking services while they are at work.

Sites like Rover and Wag make it easy for pet sitters and dog walkers to advertise their services. You pay a small fee in exchange for using their site; however, they have large audiences, making it easier to find daily work.

18. Start a Consulting Business

Average Pay: $35 – $50/hour

If you specialize in a specific industry, you can offer consulting services outside your standard work hours. The nice thing about consulting is that you choose which projects you’ll handle, how much you’ll charge, and the turnaround time.

To do this, be sure you aren’t violating any conflict of interest at your full-time job and that you offer a detailed description of the services you’ll offer. You can advertise your services on LinkedIn, Fiverr, and Upwork.

19. Flip Items

Average Pay: $3,000 – $4,000 a month

Flipping items is one of the best side hustles that pay daily because you get to have fun hunting for items and then ‘flip them’ for a profit.

Some flipping requires you to fix the items up, such as furniture, but this allows more room for profits. Others, like retail arbitrage, mean you find great deals, like clearance items, and sell them for full price online.

You can make money on the side by flipping items you have at home. Once you get good at it, head out to flea markets, Goodwill, and local stores to snag more deals.

20. Provide Snow Removal Services

Average Pay:  $20 – $30/hour

If you live in an area with heavy winters, consider offering snow removal services. You can do this with only a shovel and some warm winter gear or purchase a plow to put on your truck.

If you use a shovel, you’ll stick with residential snow removal, but if you have a plow, you can make even more money plowing parking lots of commercial buildings.

FAQs

Finding the right side hustle can be challenging. Here are some of the most frequent questions people have about daily paid side hustles.

Do All Gig Economy Jobs Offer Daily Payouts?

Not all gig economy jobs offer daily payouts. Read the fine print to see if they do and what they charge. Most daily payouts aren’t free, with a few exceptions, like DoorDash, so be sure you know what it will cost to ensure it’s worth it.

Can I Do Multiple Side Hustles That Pay Daily Simultaneously?

You can do as many side hustles as you can handle – there’s no limit. However, only take on what you can handle and provide great customer service. Many of the side hustles that pay daily rely on tips. The better service you provide, the more money you’ll earn.

Can I Make a Sustainable Income With Daily Paying Side Hustles?

Daily side hustles can pay well if you diversify your efforts and frequently work them. However, if you only work them in your free time, consider the funds supplemental income instead of adequate enough to cover the bills.

How Can I Manage My Finances Effectively With Daily Payouts?

Tracking your earnings is important because you must report them on your tax returns. Use automated software like Quickbooks to ensure you have an adequate record of your income and expenses.

How Can I Market My Services for Side Hustles That Pay Daily?

You can use many websites like Fiverr, Upwork, and TaskRabbit to advertise your side hustles. However, you can also advertise yourself using your social media pages or old-fashioned flyers in the neighborhood.

How Do Taxes Work for Daily Paying Side Hustles?

Like regular income, you must report your side hustle income. Since you won’t receive a W-2 as an independent contractor, you must report the income on Schedule C of your 1040.

How To Make $1,000 a Month in Passive Income

The post How To Make $1,000 a Month in Passive Income appeared first on Millennial Money.

While it may sound difficult, making $1,000 a month in passive income is possible! It takes creativity, time, and effort; but once you get started, you’ll find it easier and easier to continue earning passively.

The methods below can help you effortlessly make $1k or more every month. Find something that speaks to you and combine multiple strategies to reach your goal of earning $1,000 in passive income monthly.

9 Ways To Make $1,000 in Passive Income Every Month

  1. Use Rewards Credit Cards
  2. Purchase Government Bonds
  3. Create a CD Ladder
  4. Invest in Crowdfunded Real Estate
  5. Invest in REITs
  6. Peer-to-Peer Lending
  7. Rent a Room or House
  8. Rent Your Car
  9. Start a Blog

1. Use Rewards Credit Cards

Effort Level: Low

Many credit cards offer hefty rewards for using them. If you’re applying for a new credit card, many offer sign-up bonuses, plus you earn cashback when you spend money. Look for rewards credit cards that offer the highest rewards for the type of shopping you do. For example, if you have a large family and do a lot of grocery shopping, find a credit card that pays well for groceries.

You can mix and match the credit cards you use if you’re organized and can handle paying the balances in full each month. Otherwise, find a credit card with the highest rewards for most of your shopping and enjoy the cashback rewards.

How to reach $1,000: Find great sign-up bonuses and mix them with cashback rewards on your most frequent purchases.

2. Purchase Government Bonds

Effort Level: Low

Government bonds are low-risk investments. You lend money to the government in exchange for interest. I series bonds currently pay 5.37% APY and mature in 30 years. You can cash them in after 12 months if needed, but you will pay a penalty worth three months of interest if you withdraw before you own the bonds for five years.

Bonds are a great way to diversify a portfolio, especially if you invest in the stock market. You can balance your portfolio with bonds to reduce the risk and give yourself a liquid investment should you need funds fast. While you won’t have $1,000 in your hand in each, the accrued interest increases your net worth.

How to reach $1,000: Invest capital in bonds and let the interest accrue. For maximum earnings, avoid withdrawing funds before five years.

3. Create a CD Ladder

Effort Level: Low

CDs or time deposits are deposits at a local or online bank. You deposit the funds for the set term and earn interest on your deposit. The interest is fixed and can be as high as 5% or more, depending on the term, how much you deposit, and the bank.

You can create a CD ladder if you don’t want to tie up all your funds long-term. This means you split up your deposit between multiple CD terms. When a term matures, you can withdraw the funds or reinvest them. This works great when interest rates increase because you can reinvest the matured funds into another CD and earn even more money. But the money remains liquid, should you need it.

Use caution in the terms you choose, though. Most banks charge investors an early withdrawal penalty if you liquidate the CD before it matures.

How to reach $1,000: Split up your deposits between various CD terms and continually reinvest to reach your goals. Avoid withdrawing funds early so you don’t lose money.

4. Invest in Crowdfunded Real Estate

Effort Level: Low

If you’ve always wanted to invest in real estate but don’t want the active involvement owning rental properties requires, consider real estate crowdfunding. This opportunity allows you to invest in commercial real estate with other investors. You can invest as little or as much as you want in each investment, diversifying your risk and earning a prorated return on each investment.

How to reach $1,000: Diversify your capital across many properties to reduce the risk of vacancies or defaulted rent, and you’ll reach your goal of $1,000.

5. Invest in REITs

Effort Level: Mid

Real estate investment trusts are another way to invest in real estate, and you don’t have to own any property physically. When you invest in REITs, you invest in a company that owns the real estate, usually commercial properties. They buy, manage, and sell properties; you own a share of the company.

REITs pay as much as 90% or more of their profits. Investors earn a prorated amount of the earnings based on their investment. It’s a great way to experience commercial real estate investment returns without all the work, helping you reach your $1,000 monthly passive income goal.

How to reach $1,000: Do your research and find a REIT with a positive experience in providing your desired returns. Look for REITs that diversify across several industries to avoid a total loss if things don’t go as planned.

6. Peer-to-Peer Lending

Effort Level: Mid

Peer-to-peer lending lets investors invest in consumer loans. Keep in mind that these are usually loans for people who can’t get approved for bank loans, so they are somewhat riskier. However, that’s the excitement because they pay higher yields than other investments, especially if you have a high risk tolerance.

Lending Club and Prosper are two popular peer-to-peer lending websites. They do all the work for you, which is why this is a mid-level effort passive income idea. Your job is to peruse the available loans and research their grade levels, interest rates, and earnings. To maximize your returns, diversify your capital across many loans.

How to reach $1,000: Diversify your capital across many loans so you have some almost ‘guaranteed’ income and some money earning higher yields to help you reach your goal.

7. Rent a Room or House

Effort Level: Mid to High

Renting an extra room or vacation home is one of the best ways to learn how to make $1000 a month in passive income. If you have the room, you can make money. All you need to do is ensure it’s ready for your tenants and provide the desired amenities. However, it’s also your responsibility to vet applicants, collect rent, and maintain the property or room.

How to reach $1,000: It’s easy to reach $1,000 a month by renting an entire home or a room. You set the rent based on market rent, and if you have a continuous flow of tenants, you can reach your goals.

8. Rent Your Car

Effort Level: Mid

If you have an extra car or don’t use your car often, you can rent it on sites like Turo. This marketplace matches people who need a car to rent with car owners. You set the rate and terms of the rental and earn good money renting your car while it sits idle.

Turo provides $750,000 in liability insurance and handles all the paperwork and administration, including vetting renters. Your job is to list your car, keep it in good condition, and make it accessible when you have renters.

How to reach $1,000: The more you make your car available for rent, the more you earn. The average Turo host makes $10,516 yearly with a single car to rent.

9. Start a Blog

Effort Level: High

If you are passionate about a particular topic, consider writing a blog about it. Even though millions of blogs already exist, there is always room for more. The key is to find your niche and focus on that target audience. For example, don’t write a blog about parenting; instead, find a niche within it, such as parenting teens or parenting children with ADHD. You can hyperfocus on your audience and get more views.

When you build a solid audience, you can monetize your blog by using affiliate links. These are exclusive links from retailers or brands for your blog. You earn a small commission when your readers click the links and purchase something. You may also be able to write sponsored posts, which brands pay you to write and share.

How to reach $1,000: Blogging takes regular effort to build an audience, but once you have that audience, your marketing efforts and affiliate links can continue to pay you, helping you reach $1,000.

Passive Investing Tips to Make $1,000 a Month

If you’re considering investing to make $1,000 a month in passive income, the name of the game is diversification. Even if one investment tanks, you may have others in your portfolio that offset it.

  • Due your due diligence: Only invest in assets you know are legit and have a positive history. Don’t take someone’s word that they found ‘the best’ investment. Do your research, and if it seems too good to be true, it likely is.
  • Know minimum balance requirements: Some investments have minimum balance requirements. If you can’t meet them, you may not be eligible, or you may be eligible but at a lower yield. Read the fine print and ensure you have the necessary capital.
  • Watch the fees: Great investments may not seem great after reading the fine print. Know how much an investment will cost before investing. There may be commission fees or annual assets under management fees. Calculate what they will cost to determine if the investment is worth it.
  • Watch your asset allocation: Your initial investment portfolio won’t stay the same as the market performs. Over time, you may find that you are more heavily invested in stocks than you wanted or that your portfolio is too conservative. Reallocating your portfolio to reach your goals is important, and if you don’t want to do it yourself, consider using a robo-advisor that offers automatic rebalancing.
  • Know your risk tolerance: No two investments have the same risk. Know what you can afford to lose or what investments won’t keep you worrying at night. Diversifying across conservative and aggressive investments is ideal, but only if you can handle the risk.
INVESTMENT AND INSURANCE PRODUCTS ARE: NOT A DEPOSIT • NOT FDIC INSURED • NO BANK GUARANTEE • MAY LOSE VALUE

What’s the Best Way to Earn $1k a Month in Passive Income?

So, how do you choose the best way to make $1,000 a month in passive income? Just like you should diversify your portfolio, you should diversify your passive income efforts.

How to Make $500 a Month in Passive Income

The post How to Make $500 a Month in Passive Income appeared first on Millennial Money.

Creating a passive income is a great way to reduce dependence on your full-time job. And learning how to make $500 a month in passive income doesn’t have to be as overwhelming as it sounds. With a little effort, you can build a $500/month passive income, then sit back and watch your earnings grow.

The best way to consistently make $500 a month in passive income is to diversify your efforts. So, I’ve shared 5 effective ways to add extra money to your bank account each month.

How to Make $500/Month in Passive Income

  1. Stock Market Investing
  2. Sell Digital Products or Courses
  3. Invest in Real Estate
  4. Earn Interest on Your Cash
  5. Start a Side Hustle

1. Stock Market Investing

The stock market may seem intimidating if you’ve never invested, but there are many ways for beginners to jump in and enjoy the stock market returns.

Here are some ways to make $500 in passive income investing in stocks or ETFs:

  • Dividend stocks: Dividend stocks pay shareholders a percentage of the profits, usually monthly or quarterly. These stocks typically aren’t growth stocks, so you won’t see them skyrocketing. But growth stocks are risky because they can bottom out at any time.
  • Common stocks: If you don’t want to worry about dividends and would rather focus on capital gains, consider common stock investments. You can use a robo-advisor like Robinhood for commission-free trading and suggestions on how to reach your financial goals.
  • ETFs: If you prefer a hands-off method to investing, consider a robo-advisor that invests in ETFs. For example, Acorns invests your spare change in a portfolio of ETFs that cover an entire index.

2. Sell Digital Products or Courses

If you’re creative, consider creating and selling digital products or teaching digital courses. This requires initial effort, but once you create the products or course, you can sell them as many times as people buy them.

  • Sell digital products: You can create many digital products, such as planners, cards, journals, flyer templates, or other marketing materials. Sites like Etsy or eBay are great for listing your products. You’ll share a percentage of your sales but can leverage their large audience.
  • Teaching courses: If you know a topic well, consider teaching it and putting it on a platform like Teachable. You can sell it to as many students as you want to take your course. There are courses on everything from how to take pictures to how to file your taxes. Find an underserved niche and create courses that help students achieve their goals.

Both digital products and courses offer opportunities for upselling to increase your earnings. Whether you offer a subscription for updated products or one-to-one coaching for your courses, you can continually add to your offerings to increase your earnings.

3. Invest in Real Estate

You should consider investing in real estate to consistently make $500 a month in passive income. There are many ways to reach your goal with real estate investing, whether you want to own real estate yourself or invest with others and not have the responsibility of managing the properties.

  • Crowdfunding: Real estate crowdfunding enables you to invest in commercial real estate with a mere fraction of its costs. Many platforms like Fundrise allow you to invest with as little as $10 per investment, so it’s easy to diversify your capital and gain the desired returns.
  • REIT: Real estate investment trusts (REITs) are commercial real estate investing companies. These companies own commercial real estate and manage and sell them. Your investment is in the real estate company itself. You’re at the mercy of their investing decisions, but if you do your due diligence, you may earn much more than $500 a month in passive income from the real estate investments.
  • Real Estate Syndication: You can also join forces with other real estate investors in a real estate syndication, kind of like a partnership. You and your partners choose the investment strategy, including how you’ll own and manage the properties to earn $500 a month in passive income.

4. Earn Interest on Your Cash

Investing cash may not seem like a way to earn much, but if you do it right, you can earn $500 a month in passive income.

Here are some simple ideas to get started:

  • High-yield savings accounts: HYSAs are a great way to earn $500 a month in passive income. Today’s high-yield savings accounts pay as much as 5% or more. You’ll find the highest yield accounts online, which is good because accessing your cash and needlessly spending it is harder. Just make sure you choose banks that don’t charge monthly maintenance fees.
  • CDs: Certificates of deposit are a great way to invest cash and earn high yields. Banks offer CDs with terms as short as one month and as long as ten years. Choose the term you can invest your money and leave it since most banks charge an early withdrawal penalty of as much as three months of interest or more. You can also try a CD ladder, which means you split up your capital across CDs of various terms. When the CD matures, you can withdraw the cash or reinvest it.
  • Bonds: Government bonds are another way to invest cash conservatively. The returns they offer are lower than the stock market but virtually risk-free. You can purchase I bonds with a yield of 5.27% through April 2024, as rates change every six months. You can cash them in after 12 months, but it’s best to wait five years to avoid the three-month interest penalty.

5. Start a Side Hustle

A side hustle requires some effort from you to start producing income, but once you get it going, it takes on a life of its own. I love this method because you have more control.

Here are some of my favorite side hustles to help you make $500 a month in passive income.

  • Blog: Create a blog on topics you know a lot about and use good SEO practices. When you rank high in Google, you’ll get a larger audience and can add affiliate links to your blog, earning you a commission when your readers click on your links and purchase something.
  • Stock photos: If you have photography skills, consider selling them on sites like Shutterstock and iStock. You upload the pictures once but can sell them as many times as people will buy them, earning you a commission on each sale.
  • Write an eBook: If you have a lot to say, consider writing and selling an eBook with Amazon’s self-publishing tool. This is a great way to stake your claim to fame without going through the hassle of publishers’ rejection.
  • Start a YouTube Channel: Like blogging, you can endorse products and earn money on YouTube, just without the need to write. YouTube also rewards accounts with a lot of views, but you’ll make the most money with sponsored ads, affiliate links, and brand deals.

Tips for Investing $500

Before investing $500, here are some key tips to consider:

Diversify: Split your capital across several investments. Don’t rely on a single investment to provide the $500 a month in passive income you desire. Diversifying ensures you don’t lose everything if one investment doesn’t perform as anticipated.

Use robo-advisors or financial advisors: Even if you only have $500 to invest, enlist the help of robo-advisors (many are free) or a professional advisor. You’ll learn how to best invest your funds to match your financial goals.

Watch the fees: Most investments have fees; if they are too high, they can eat into your profits. Look for investments with little to no commission and low asset under management fees if they charge them.

Solitaire Smash Review 2024

The post Solitaire Smash Review 2024 appeared first on Millennial Money.

Plenty of game apps claim you can earn extra money with minimal effort. They invite you to download the app, enter matches, and easily win large tournament jackpots. It seems too good to be true. Do any of these cash apps actually pay?

Solitaire Smash is one game that does. It won’t pay hundreds or thousands of dollars like many ads for other games promise (those are fake, by the way), but it does pay real cash. There are some tournaments with top prize brackets awarding $100 or more. Taking home a large prize isn’t easy though; it requires outstanding Solitaire skills, speed, and a little bit of luck.

Smaller pots, starting at around $4, are easier to take down. And there are free games, too.

This review will cover how the app works, how much you can make, and everything we like and don’t like about Solitaire Smash and similar game apps.

What is Solitaire Smash?

Solitaire Smash is a highly-ranked mobile game app that puts a contemporary twist on the classic Solitaire card game.

Play free practice games or participate in cash tournaments against players around the world. Wager and win virtual currency, gems, which can be redeemed for real money. Players can fund their accounts with extra money to purchase more virtual currency.

Is Solitaire Smash Legit?

Yes, Solitaire Smash is a legitimate game. Some reviews say that Solitaire Smash’s legitimacy is in question because you can lose money playing the game and the developer, PlayPerfect, only has one app in the iOS store.

However, you can lose money playing any tournament-style game — even games by well-known developers with dozens of apps in the iOS store and ratings much overall lower than Solitaire Smash.

PlayPerfect’s website does have limited information, however, it is a newer company that has grown from 3 employees to 30 within a year. According to the company’s LinkedIn profile, PlayPerfect was founded in 2021 and is headquartered out of Tel Aviv, Israel.

You can read the terms and conditions for the app, which outline all guidelines in great detail, and find support contact information.

The Solitaire Smash game is currently ranked number 9 for all casino-style games in the Apple Store and has an average 4.8-star rating.

How to Earn Money with Solitaire Smash

To earn money with Solitaire Smash, you’ll need to wager real money or virtual currency (gems) at Solitaire. This app version is similar to the classic card game where you clear stacks by making sequences in alternating colors.

Download the free Solitaire Smash app on Apple. Make sure you select the correct Solitaire game app with “Play Perfect” listed as the developer.

After you install the app, you’ll be prompted to create a player profile or you can go with the randomly generated name and avatar.

A range of games are available at any time, including free games and high cash prize pools with payouts of $100 or more. There are also tournaments with a hybrid entry of both gems and a small cash amount.

solitaire smash games available

Players start around with 100 gems. Earn more gems as you win free games, level up through winning games (tournament or free), or claim daily bonuses.

solitaire smash daily bonuses

After I saved up 1,000 gems, I entered the Freebie Frenzy match. For an entry fee of 1,000 gems, you can play in a $7 cash prize pool. I took first place and earned $4. You can see all of your wins and losses in your results tab. As you can see, there are many rounds where I did not finish in first place.

solitaire smash saved up gems

Most tournaments are multi-bracket games where the top three (3) finishers receive a reward. There are also some one-on-one matches too.

Except for Freebie Frenzy, all cash tournaments require a cash entry fee. It is possible to earn enough gems to pay the entry fee for Freebie Frenzy, however, it will take a while to bank enough. You can win gems by playing free practice games and collecting daily bonuses for logging in.

It took me less than a day to earn 1,000 gems and enter a cash tournament for free and I did win the top $4 prize.

I played quite a bit on and off over a day. All told, it probably took about three (3) hours total to win enough gems. As I progressed from one level to the next, it became harder to win gems. It was easy to win the first 800 and hard to clear the final 200.

I could have just paid a few dollars to enter some cash games right away, but I wanted the free practice and I also wanted to see whether or not it was possible to earn enough gems to enter free cash games. And it is!

With my $4 prize, I could cash out or enter a couple of small prize pool tournaments, but I think that I am just going to keep playing more free games. I want to bank enough virtual gems to enter more free cash games.

Some people do play Solitaire Smash just for fun and never enter any cash tournaments. But if you do want to try and win some extra cash, this is the general flow.

  1. Install the free app on your iOS phone or iPad.
  2. Play the free tutorial game.
  3. Play free practice games to get used to the gaming experience and timer.
  4. Enter solitaire tournaments.

How Cash Tournaments Work

With cash tournaments, you are matched against players of a similar skill level. Everyone has the same time limit (usually 3 minutes or 5 minutes depending on the difficulty level) and the same set of cards and game layout, which is what makes the game skill-based.

Available prize pools change, based on special promotions. For most new players, you will be able to enter cash tournaments to win anywhere from $4 to $120 and the brackets will have anywhere from 5 to 9 players.

The entry fee for cash prize games can range from all gems (minimum 1,000) to up to $20. For the $120 tournament, 9 players wager $29 each. The top three finishers will win $60, $40, or $20. The house, or game app, keeps $60.

Before you enter a free or cash tournament, you see a preview of the prize earnings and how many winners there are.

When you cash out your winnings, they’ll be paid via your bank account, Apple Pay, or PayPal.

Earning Potential

There are a couple of ways to look at earning potential.

  • Per month – $30 to $120
  • Per tournament – $100+ per tournament

Per month, you could reasonably earn $30 to $120. That’s if you average an extra $1 to $4 daily. This means you would need to win more tournaments than you lose. In most tournaments, you have a 50% chance of winning a cash prize (breaking even or better), or a 33% chance of winning prize money on top of your wager.

Some days you might net $10. Other days you might lose a few dollars. But if you are patient and consistent, and have decent Solitaire Smash skills, it could balance out.

By tournament, the high prize amount varies based on which games are available. Typically, it’s at least $100. At the date of this article’s publication, the highest reward is a $175 prize pool. There is a $25 entry fee, and the top finisher gets $70 or clears $45.

How to Cash Out on Solitaire Smash

Earnings can be cashed out at any time on Solitaire Smash. The app’s terms do not specify a minimum amount needed to cash out. Log into the app and tap your player setting (icon in the lower screen).

You can cash out your initial deposit and any winnings, but you cannot cash out any bonus cash. For example, if you paid $100 to get $120 worth of gems, you can cash out that initial $100 but the additional $20. That $20 is bonus money for you to play cash games.

If you win a tournament that you entered using bonus cash for the entry fee, any prize won can be cashed out.

As outlined earlier, the cash-out methods are Apple Pay, PayPal, or your bank account.

Pros and Cons

We quickly covered some of the pros and cons of the Solitaire Smash app at the start of our review. Here’s a closer look:

Pros

  • High app store rating: 8-star rating (out of 5 stars) based on over 37,000 reviews in the Apple Store.
  • Free games are available: Play “Gem-a-zing” games with virtual gems. An entry fee of 20 gems is needed for a shot at a 110-gem prize pool. You can keep playing more free, gem-only games with your winnings or amass enough to enter “Freebie Frenzy” prize pools. For a 1,000-gem entry, you can play for a $7 prize pool.
  • Offers high-paying tournaments: After factoring in your entry fee, it’s possible to win $45 or more in 5 minutes if you can win the $175 multiplayer tournament.
  • You win real cash: It’s a chance to win real money straight from your phone, not just virtual prizes.
  • No minimum payout: Many cash rewards apps have a minimum payout (i.e. $15 in earnings) before you can redeem funds. Cash out at any time on Solitaire Cash.
  • The app is easy to use: Clean, simple, and engaging interface. It’s easy to play games or navigate to different features in the app.
  • Fun: The Solitaire Smash app, if you enjoy Solitaire, is actually quite fun with sound effects, slick animations, and the ability to see how your speed and skill compare against other players.

Cons

  • You can lose money: Just as you can win real money on the app, you can lose real money You need to think of this app as entertainment first and not bet more than you can afford to lose.
  • No regular wages: This is not a side hustle like Uber or Instacart. If you need a regular income stream, you will be disappointed by Solitaire Smash.
  • Better alternatives: You can find other Solitaire cash apps with more engaging graphics, gameplay variety, and special effects. However, these other versions often have ads and are more prone to crashing.
  • Not available on Android devices: For iOS users only. Download the app in the Apple app store for iPhones or iPads.
  • Paid cash games are not available in all 50 states: Cash games are not offered in Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, South Carolina, South Dakota, or Vermont.

Solitaire Smash App User Reviews

User reviews for Solitaire Smash are overwhelmingly positive. The app averages 4.8 stars, which is an unusually high score.

Here’s a sample of some of what users have to say:

...As for Solitaire Smash, of all the Solitaire games I win the most at this one...I usually start with $5 to see how far I will go. If I get to $50, I withdraw it. Took a little while, but I got to $75 and withdrew the money after only starting with $5!

...The only reason I keep playing is because I enjoy the challenge and mental stimulation.

Fun game, however, the amount of ads for its own game every time you open the app is ridiculous.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most popular FAQs that readers have about the Solitaire Smash app.

How Do You Score High on Solitaire Smash?

After playing the game for several hours myself, and talking to other avid players, here are some tips to help you improve your game scores.

  • Be thorough and do not rush. Time bonuses are good, but when you focus on speed you are going to miss moves and make mistakes.
  • Plan your moves out in advance. Look over the game board and foundation pile before you move any card.
  • Prioritize turning over face-down cards before you draw from the stack.
  • Do not draw from the stack of cards unless there are no other options on the board.
  • Prioritize foundation piles (getting aces back to home cells), but only if they are evenly built. Do not stack one up too high (i.e., one stack is up to 6 and the other stacks are all at 1 or 2). You could stack one card in the foundation pile that you need later on the board.
  • Play the tutorial — don’t skip it. Even if you know how to play, you need to get used to the Solitaire Smash app and game timer.
  • Play as many free (freeroll) games as possible to bank up a lot of gems. Bank at least 1,200 to 1,500 before you enter your first Freebie Frenzy game, a tournament with a $7 cash pool for a 1,000 gem entry fee.
  • Read other player reviews in the app store. They often have great insider tips.
  • Do not play distracted. Don’t try to play while you’re waiting for an Uber ride or watching your kids at the park. A couple of seconds can mean the difference between winning cash or finishing in last place.
  • Take breaks. You can’t maintain intense mental focus for more than a few games in a row. Take a break. Blink your eyes. Stretch your legs. Then resume again if you want to keep going.

Which Solitaire App Pays Real Money?

Beyond Solitaire Smash, many other Solitaire game apps pay real money. Some of the best Solitaire apps include:
